Yangwang is the high-end brand of BYD Company, which revealed its first high-end pure electric supercar U9. The impressive figures claimed by the company have left everyone shocked and wondering what this brand can achieve.
The aggressive-looking supercar is designed to dominate on track as it already has set up impressive lap times during its testing phase.

Who could have thought the Chinese manufacturer BYD Company could achieve this outstanding acceleration from 0-62 mph in just a whopping 2.36 seconds, with a top speed recorded at 243.54 mph in a straight line?
This acceleration made the Yangwang U9 the fastest Chinese car in serial production ever, and it is undoubtedly unbelievable to this day.

As car lovers, we have all been fans of The Fast and Furious 1. That makes everyone set their standards for fast cars, such as the one that can perform a quarter-mile (400m) in less than 10 seconds.
The good news is that it can cover that distance in an impressive 9.78 seconds as it comes out of the factory with everything in stock.

This 1300-horsepower car can drive on three wheels due to its advanced Intelligent Air Body Control System, which makes it possible to lift and control each axle separately.
It displays how advanced technology this car has to perform on tracks, as it claims intelligent racing assistance and information about 30 racetracks across China.

The e4 system of power refers to four independent electric motors that provide precise torque output control to each independent wheel—resulting in maximum performance, safety, and a joyful experience.
The YANGWANG U9 unleashes 1300 horsepower and offers a maximum torque of 1680N·m, making it the fastest electric production car in China utilizing its e4 platform at its best.

We all became aware of that viral video on social media where a car is jumping. Yes! That is real, and the latest DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System has made it possible.
It enables the YANGWANG U9 to lift any single axis at a speed of 500mm/s and the suspension to travel up to 75mm with a whooping force of over 1 ton. This suspension made it possible to perform a leap-up and dance with the beats while you enjoy your favorite music.

Yangwang U9 is equipped with cell-to-body (CTB) technology, with its battery embedded directly into the frame, making it a part of the car. This technology allows this car to gain a maximum stiffness of 54425N·m/deg.
This technology was necessary as many components comprise lightweight carbon fiber. CTB provides the load required to each side of the roof exceeding 11 tons, ultimately ensuring safety and performance on the track.

The U9, having four electric motors, supports dual charging, which means you can plug in two charging guns simultaneously with minimum charging time. It supports up to 500 kW of electric charging.
This dual charging enables it to achieve 30 to 80 percent of charging time in 10 minutes. The range is claimed to be 289 miles.

The Car News China reported the car’s lap times after being tested on the Shanghai International Circuit, making an official lap time of 2:17.65 minutes. The Nio EP9 could make a lap time of 2:01.11 minutes.
Although not the fastest, it has undoubtedly beaten its competitors like the BMW M5 F90, which made a lap time of 2:22.828 minutes, and the Porsche Panamera Turbo, achieving 2:27.72 minutes.

The BYD Yangwang U9 adds style to the performance by adding scissor doors, and, based on pictures, we can see a pretty sizeable boot space, leaving no room for complaints.
Its dimensions, as displayed, are 4966/2029/1295 mm, and its wheelbase is 2900 mm. The car sticks to the ground with 275/35 R21 (front) & 325/30 R21 (rear) wheels.

The thermal management system is installed to control higher temperatures better, resulting in an adequate cooling capacity during peak performance hours.
The Blade Battery, the signature of the BYD, facilitates discharging and dissipating heat, and the Dual Plug-in charging technology offers a charging power of up to 500 kW. Not to mention, the charging time is 30-80 percent in just 10 minutes.

The massive wing at the back is made up of super-carbon-fiber material. It adds beauty to the beast and provides tons of downforce, keeping it stuck to the ground.
It has a set of as many as 12 aerodynamic packages, both active and passive, reducing drag force. These also contribute to dissipating the head during high speeds.

Unsurprisingly, a supercar with that many impressive features and acceleration would not have come with less than six figures in price tag.
Considering any European or German car with 233mph and 2.3 second 0-62mph claims, not forgetting the one that dances, the amount of $231,560 seems justified and value to money.

The interior of the YANGWANG U9 features two 14-way adjustable seats to give drivers and passengers an unforgettable experience. The U9 comes with three screens, two of which are small and in front of the driver and passenger and are of equal size.
One weirdly portrait screen is present in the center console. Overall, the interior is simple as it’s designed to perform on track, but it does come with an immersive high-end sound system.

It is worthwhile to wait for the official launch of this piece of art till February 2025, which is around the corner after all. The expectation bar is set relatively high after all those official claims.
I can’t wait to see this beast perform in real-time. Fingers are crossed for stepping up the game of Chinese manufacturers into the new era.
